Women's Tennis Completes Play at ITA Midwest Regional

The University of Illinois Springfield women's tennis team competed at the 2023 ITA Division II Women's Midwest Regional Championships over the weekend, its sole fall competition.

Carmen Llopis Fabra defeated her first Flight B singles opponent 6-1, 6-0 before falling to Walsh's Cala Padberg in the round of 32.

Kamila Kalinowska surpassed the first round of Flight C singles on a bye, then defeated Hillsdale's Isabella Spinazze 6-1, 4-6, 10-4. Kalinowska would advance through the rounds of 32 and 16 to be eliminated in the quarterfinals on Sunday.

Doubles pairs of Sina Skjelstad and Kamila Kalinowska, and Franca Bucco and Niamh Grogan competed on Saturday. Neither pair advanced past the round of 32 after 6-2 losses.
