The University of Illinois Springfield track and field team competed in Indiana State's Sycamore Open on Saturday to close out the regular season. 

UIS men's basketball starter Jacob Hanna made some noise in his collegiate high jump debut, winning the meet with a No. 1 GLVC, No. 25 NCAA DII mark. Hanna took down the GLVC regular season leader with a 2.05m leap. 

Breanna Chandler and Chris Cherry each picked up wins in the 800 meter run, Cherry's 1:51.22 is the second best by a GLVC athlete this spring and an NCAA DII provisional mark. Chandler's 800m was a GLVC No. 9 mark, she was also the runner-up in the 1500 meter run with a No. 12 mark. 

Additional runner-up finishes include Jade Aubrey in the women's 5,000m, Wyatt McIntyre in the men's 5,000m, Matt Moler in the men's 800m, and Hayley Goebel in shot put, discus and hammer throw.

Noah Tegeler showed some speed with a 22 second PR of 4:01.17 in the 1500 meter run. The sophomore has now run major personal bests two weekends in a row and looks to qualify for the GLVC Outdoor Track and Field Championships for the first time.
