The University of Illinois Springfield women's tennis team fell to 1-7 and 0-3 in the GLVC after dropping a match to the Lewis Flyers on Saturday and a non-conference match to Northwood on Sunday. 

Lewis swept the six matches played on Saturday. Marianela Landi took her singles match to a third set but did not come away victorious. 

UIS returned on Sunday versus Northwood, winning one doubles match but failing to secure the doubles point. Marianela Landi and Riann Hsu won their singles competitions; Landi 0-6, 6-4, 6-1, and Hsu 6-4, 6-4. 

Next up for UIS tennis is a weekend of conference competition at home. The Prairie Stars will take on the nationally-ranked Indianapolis Greyhounds on Friday and the McKendree Bearcats on Sunday.
