The UIS men's basketball team earned its highest seed ever in the GLVC Championship Tournament. The No. 2-seeded Prairie Stars are set to face No. 7 Southwest Baptist on Thursday at 2:15 p.m. at Lindenwood University's Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Mo.
UIS is making its seventh appearance in the GLVC postseason, but first since 2016 - with the exception of last year when all 15 schools qualified. The Prairie Stars were selected ninth in the GLVC preseason poll.
Three Prairie Stars earned All-GLVC Honors, as was announced by the league on Wednesday.
Jack Weber was a unanimous First Team All-GLVC selection,
Max Kunnert eanred Second Team All-GLVC honors, and
Jacob Hanna made the GLVC's All-Defensive Team.
UIS and Southwest Baptist each went 19-9 overall in the regular season. UIS went 13-7 in conference play and the Bearcats went 11-9. The Prairie Stars swept the Bearcats during the regular season with a 63-61 home win and 79-78 road win.
For the second year in a row, all GLVC Championship Tournament action will be streamed live for $15 per game or $35 for the full tournament on
GLVCSN.com, the GLVCSN iOS and Android mobile apps, and GLVCSN OTT apps on Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, and Android TV. UIS Athletics will host a free watch party on campus at the UIS Student Union Sports Grill for Prairie Stars fans.
