Men's Golf Finishes Sixth at the Tunica Cup

The University of Illinois Springfield men's golf team finished sixth of ten teams at the Tunica Cup early this week. 

Julien Babineau finished as the top Prairie Star, tied for thirteenth. He shot rounds of 78, 75, 73 to move up from his 20th place standing from round one. JJ Kim led UIS through round one with his 76 stroke debut as a Prairie Star. Kim also finished in the top half of the field. 

Brady Wilson, Alex Seibal, and Daniel Edwards finished 29th-31st in the competition. The Prairie Stars improved in each round played, including team scores of 317, 310, and 300 for 18-holes. Their 927 final score is their best 54-hole performance of 2022-23 thus far. 

Three of the nine oppenents were Great Lakes Valley Conference member schools. The Missouri S&T Miners were the Tunica Cup champions, while William Jewell came in fifth, and Quincy was seventh. 

UIS men's golf will compete at the Las Vegas Desert Classic on March 5-7.
