2/21/2023 6:05:00 PM

The University of Illinois Springfield men's basketball team will go on the road to face two GLVC opponents in the final week of the regular season. First, UIS will play Drury (8-18, 4-14 GLVC) on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. The Prairie Stars will then face the Southwest Baptist Bearcats (18-8, 10-8 GLVC) at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday to close out the regular season.

UIS is on a four-game winning streak that includes a win over William Jewell, one of the top-ranked GLVC teams. The Prairie Stars hold the third conference spot in the GLVC Point Rating System (PRS) as of Feb. 18. UIS and Southwest Baptist are among a group of seven teams in the conference that are within 0.25 in the PRS.

The Prairie Stars took down the Drury Panthers 81-58 when they last met. UIS never let Drury lead by more than two points, and averaged 49.1% shooting from the field.

UIS defeated Southwest Baptist 63-61 in overtime when they met in January thanks to a strong defensive performance. It was their first win over the Bearcats in program history.

UIS leads the conference, including No. 4 ranked Indianapolis, in assist/turnover ratio. The Prairie Stars are also among the top four teams in scoring offense, scoring defense, and assists.

Individually in the GLVC, Jordan Rice is second in assists/turnover ratio with 2.46, and Jack Weber stands third in field goal percentage with 61.1%. A number of additional players stand in the top-10 of various statistics rankings
