The University of Illinois Springfield women's basketball team secured an 81-59 win over the Quincy Hawks in Quincy, Ill. on Saturday.
Quincy led for just 28 seconds before UIS took over. The Prairie Stars forced 19 turnovers in the first half and entered half time 41-16. The UIS defense proceeded to hold the Hawks scoreless for over 10 minutes, growing their lead to 29 points before Quincy could score again.
UIS held on to their lead in the second half despite being outscored by Quincy 43-40.
Liz Uhl dropped 32 points versus the Hawks. Uhl also collected nine rebounds, two assists, and two steals in her 39 minutes played.
Ariyah Douglas scored 18, making 6-of-14 from the field.
Ava Bardic had 14 points, six rebounds, and five steals.
The Prairie Stars were 49.2% from the field as a team for the game after making 8-of-14 shots from outside the paint in the fourth quarter.

Ava Bardic each shot 60% from the field. UIS also continued to prove their merit as the top free throw shooting team in the GLVC by shooting 90% from the line.
UIS will return home next weekend for the final weekend of regular season home games. The Prairie Stars will have their Pink Game on Thursday versus Rockhurst, and Senior Day on Saturday versus William Jewell.
