Women’s Basketball off to 3-1 Conference Start After Defeating Missouri S&T

The University of Illinois Springfield women's basketball game picked up a win over the Missouri S&T Miners on Saturday in Rolla, Mo. UIS is now 5-2, 3-1 in the GLVC. The Miners fell to 1-7, 0-4 in the conference.

Game Summary
  • The Miners put up 27 points in the first quarter and held UIS to just 15. The Prairie Stars made 37.5% from the field during that time, but would shoot 40% or above in each of the remaining quarters
  • Seven S&T turnovers and six UIS field goals powered UIS to a 13-2 run in the second quarter, from which they gained the lead
