The University of Illinois Springfield volleyball team wraps up GLVC play this weekend with matches at TRAC. The Prairie Stars face #13 Lewis on Friday night at 6:00 p.m. and Indianapolis on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. Friday night will celebrate Kids Night and Saturday the team will have Senior Day. 

UIS' current record is 9-15 with a 3-8 GLVC record, which puts the Prairie Stars in 11th. 

On Friday, the Prairie Stars faced third-ranked UMSL, a match in which the Stars fell 0-3. In the first two sets the Prairie Stars had early leads, but UMSL showed why they have been in the national rankings the whole year with quick runs to take the lead. The Prairie Stars hit .148 in the contest with 34 kills against 18 errors in 108 chances. Eirini Glynou and Maria Spengler both had 13 kills for UIS. Erica Sledge had 25 assists for the Stars. Eirini Glynou registered another double-double as she had 15 digs. Marta Pérez-Tapia had 13 digs of her own. 

Saturday the Prairie Stars faced the McKendree Bearcats, where the Stars fell 0-3. UIS had late leads in the second and third sets, but two McKendree runs led to Bearcat victories. The Prairie Stars hit .118 in the contest with 36 kills against 19 errors in 144 chances. Eirini Glynou had 11 kills in 3 sets. Erica Sledge recorded 26 assists. Sledge, Marta Pérez-Tapia, and Bella Hodges all had 12 digs in the match.
