The University of Illinois Springfield men's soccer team will continue their playoff journey against the McKendree Bearcats on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Corwin Clatt Stadium in East Peoria, Illinois. 

UIS (12-1-5)

On Sunday, the Prairie Stars beat the Drury Panthers in a tight 1-0 contest. The lone goal of the game came from a Riccardo Sandulli penalty kick goal in the 83rd minute. The game featured few high-quality chances, but was overall controlled by the Prairie Stars. UIS outshot Drury 7-3, with a 5-1 advantage in shots on goal. The goal was Sandulli's fourth of the season.

McKendree (11-1-6)

McKendree's quarterfinal on Sunday came against the Maryville Saints in Lebanon, Illinois. The Bearcats won 1-0 on a goal in the 25th minute from Jay Sangha. The Saints outshot the Bearcats 15-4, with a 5-1 advantage in shots on goal. Another stout defensive performance gave the Bearcats their ninth clean sheet in a row. 

UIS vs. McKendree History

UIS holds an all-time record of 34-15-5 against the Bearcats. The last Prairie Stars win came in 2018. In the matchup between the two earlier in the season, it ended in a 0-0 draw in Springfield. 

Around the Conference

The second-seeded Lewis Flyers meet the third seed Indianapolis Greyhounds at 5 p.m. at Corwin Clatt Stadium. The winners of both matches will meet in the GLVC Championship Match on Sunday at 3 p.m. in East Peoria.
