UIS women's basketball fell to Southwest Baptist in a home game by a final score of 72-65.
UIS was able to hold SBU to a close score for much of the matchup, and led 31-30 at the half. Southwest Baptist scored 24 points in the fourth quarter to make a difference in the matchup. SBU shot 52% from the field for the game, including 66.8% in the second half.
Brianna Zajicek was the leading scorer with a season high of 24 points. Zajicek's shooting percentage of 64.7% led the team to an overall shooting percentage of 42.4% for the game.
Ariyah Douglas was next up with 15 points, four rebounds, and four assists.
The Prairie Stars are now 1-13 and 1-6 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Next up for the Prairie Stars is a home matchup against Drury on Saturday.
