The University of Illinois Springfield women's soccer team dominated play on Tuesday evening at home against Purdue Northwest. The Prairie Stars could not put a shot into the net though as they tied the Pride in a scoreless contest.

UIS had a statistical edge in every category, especially in the second half of play. The Prairie Stars outshot Purdue Northwest by a 23-6 margin, including 10-2 in shots on goal. UIS also had 11 corner kicks, including 10 in the final 45 minutes.

The Prairie Stars offense could not take advantage of those numbers though with numerous scoring chances being saved by the Pride goalie, or on shots that were just off the mark.

Allison Mirimanian made two saves as she earned her second shutout of the season.
Maggie Joos had a team-high five shots, and
Sierra Cenek had three shots on goal. On defense,
Hilppa Tuomainen,
Megan Little, and
Louise Anderson played all 90 minutes, allowing just six total shots, many from outside scoring range.

UIS ends non-conference action with a 1-2-2 record. The Prairie Stars begin GLVC play on Sunday at home against Missouri S&T.
