The University of Illinois Springfield men's golf team opened up the 2022-23 season at the Arch Cup in Madison, Ill. 
Brady Wilson tied a program record for 36 holes by shooting a 139 at the event.
 
Wilson tied for eighth overall with his score of three-under par. He shot a one-under 70 in the opening round and a two-under 69 in round two. He had five birdies and eagled the par-five 18th hole in the second round. He was third in the tournament with a three-under on par-four holes, and fifth with 27 pars.
 
The next three finishers for UIS were all newcomers. Julier Babineau shot a 151, 
Alex Seibal had a 152, and 
Daniel Edwards carded a 155. Rounding out the team scoring was 
Hagen Sanchez with a 168.
 
Among individual golfers, 
Tom Bumann shot a 145, 
Charles Prins had a 154, and 
Aryaman Mohan scored a 158.
 
UIS shot a 597 as a team. It had a 306 in round one, but improved to a 291 during the final 18 holes. The Prairie Stars top four golfers all shot 75 or better in the final round. UIS finished 10th overall out of 14 teams.
 
UIS will be off until the Midwest Regional Preview event on Oct. 3-4 in Springfield, Ill.
