The University of Illinois Springfield women's soccer team won its Homecoming contest on Friday night at Kiwanis Stadium. The Prairie Stars defeated Indianapolis by a 1-0 margin.

UIS attempted 12 shots in the game, and had six of them on goal. Defensively, they held Indianapolis to just three shots, and none of them were on goal.

The game's only goal came in the 33rd minute when UIS earned a penalty kick after a Greyhound handball.
Sierra Cenek's shot hit the right post and bounced right to
Corinne Stewart. Stewart was able to finish off the rebound for the game's only goal.

Allison Mirimanian earned her fifth shutout of the season.

Megan Little, and
Louise Anderson all played 90 minutes to help the Prairie Stars get the clean sheet.

UIS improves to 4-3-2 on the season and 3-1-0 in GLVC action. The Prairie Stars return home on Sunday to face nationally-ranked McKendree.
