The University of Illinois Springfield men's soccer team opened the 2022 season with a road setback in Michigan. The Prairie Stars fell to Davenport by a 3-0 score.

Davenport landed the first punch in the 10th minute, and then added another first half goal with less than two minutes remaining in the period. The Panthers added one more goal late for the final tally of the contest.

UIS had more shots in the contest by a 14-9 margin. Davenport had four shots on goal though in its nine attempts, compared to just two in the Prairie Stars' 14 shots.

UIS will be back in action on Saturday at Saginaw Valley State.
