The University of Illinois Springfield baseball team clinched the GLVC Blue Division Regular Season Championship on Saturday in Springfield, Ill. The Prairie Stars earned the title with an 11-0 win in game two of the day's doubleheader.

UIS scored in every inning but one in the second game, including a trio of three-run innings.
Zion Pettigrew had three hits, including a double and home run, and finished with team-highs of three runs and two RBI.
Kal Youngquist also homered and had two runs and two RBI.
Asher Bradd finished with two runs and a RBI, and
Austin Alderman and
Noah Crowe had a run and RBI. Crowe and
Anthony Deconcilis each had a pair of hits.

Colton Hale was dominant in his start. He threw six innings and struck out six. He did not walk anyone and scattered just four hits.
Eddie Wilkins close out the win by throwing a perfect ninth, including two strikeouts.

The division title was the third for UIS over the last three seasons that the league was broken up in divisions. The Prairie Stars are now 91-23 in GLVC games over the last four full seasons of play, as they have become the dominant force in the league.

In game one, Truman won in extra innings by a 4-3 score. UIS trailed 3-1 late, but scored single runs in both the eighth and ninth innings to force extras. The Bulldogs won in the tenth though with a solo home run.

Quinn Gudaitis started and struck out 10 in five innings. He allowed just four hits and one run. Offensively,
Brandon Bannon and
Asher Bradd both had two hits. Bannon had one run and one RBI, including the two-out hit that tied the game in the ninth.

UIS is now 37-8 on the season and 17-5 in GLVC play. The Prairie Stars end the regular season on Sunday afternoon with a noon doubleheader against Truman State.
