Zion Pettigrew was named the GLVC Player of the Week on Monday. Pettigrew won the award for the second time this season.

In last week's four-game series against Indianapolis, Pettigrew batted .412 with a 1.118 slugging percentage and .545 on-base percentage. He had seven runs, 12 RBI, seven hits, and four home runs during the series.

In the first game of the Indianapolis series, he had two hits, two runs, one homer, and five RBI. The next game, against one of the top pitchers in NCAA Division II, he hit two home runs, and finished the game with two runs and three RBI. He capped the third game with a grand slam, and he scored twice and reached base four times in the contest. Pettigrew closed out the contest by sparking the team's eighth-inning rally with a single and a run in the team's come-from-behind victory.

On the season, Pettigrew is batting .406 with a .869 slugging percentage and .534 on-base percentage. In 43 games, he has 61 runs and 73 RBI. He has 32 extra-base hits, with 11 doubles and 21 home runs. Pettigrew leads NCAA Division II with 1.70 RBI per game, and is fourth with 0.49 home runs per contest. He is also in the top-15 in on-base and slugging percentages.
