Zion Pettigrew became the first repeat GLVC Player of the Year in conference history on Monday, and ten total Prairie Stars were named to one of the all-GLVC teams.

Pettigrew was one of two unanimous first-team selections, and was joined on the first-team by teammates first baseman
Kal Youngquist, second baseman
Brandon Bannon, outfielders
Austin Alderman and
Asher Bradd, starting pitcher
Colton Hale, and relief pitcher
Cameron Zunkel. UIS players on the second team were outfielder
Brant Vanaman, and starting pitchers
Quinn Gudaitis and
Seth Masters.

Pettigrew enters the GLVC Tournament this week leading the GLVC in home runs, RBI, slugging percentage, total bases, and walks. He is the nationally leader in RBI per games, and is also top-six in the conference in batting average, on-base percentage, hits, and runs.

Pettigrew is currently batting .408 with a .862 slugging percentage and .529 on-base percentage. In 47 games, he has 66 runs, 71 hits, 13 doubles, 22 home runs, and 78 RBI.

Youngquist earned first-team all-GLVC honors for the second straight season. He is fourth in the GLVC with a .505 on-base percentage, and third with 61 RBI. He is batting .358 with a .599 slugging percentage, and also has 46 runs, 15 doubles, and eight homers.

Bannon earns his second all-GLVC award after being second-team in 2019. He is second in the GLVC and sixth in NCAA Division II with 73 runs per game. Bannon is batting .386 with a .630 slugging percentage and .487 on-base percentage. He has 71 hits, 14 doubles, two triples, nine home runs, and 11 stolen bases.

Alderman collects his second straight first-team all-conference award. He is in the top-11 in the GLVC in both runs and RBI per game, as well as on-base percentage and home runs. Alderman is batting .361 with a .657 slugging percentage and .484 on-base percentage. He has 52 runs, 61 hits, seven doubles, two triples, 13 home runs, and 53 RBI.

Bradd was named all-conference for the first time this year. He is the GLVC leader in hits and runs, and ranks in the top-five nationally in both of those categories. He also ranks top-five in the league in stolen bases, triples, and toughest to strike out. Bradd is hitting .401 with a .473 on-base percentage, and he has 74 runs, 83 hits, nine doubles, five triples, three home runs, 31 RBI, and is a perfect 20-of-20 on stolen base attempts.

Hale was named all-conference for the second straight year after earning second-team honors last season. The school's all-time leader in wins is first in the conference this season in victories. He is also top-ten in WHIP, strikeouts, ERA, and hits allowed per nine innings. Hale is 9-1 on the year with a 3.66 ERA, and opponents are batting just .230 off of him. He has 70 strikeouts in 64 innings.

Zunkel earned first-team honors for the second time in his career, and the first since 2018. He has a 4-0 record and a 1.93 ERA. Opponents are batting just .193 off of him, and he has a WHIP under one. He has struck out 23 batters in 23 1/3 innings.

Vanaman earned all-GLVC in his first year at UIS. He is seventh in the league in home runs, and eighth in doubles. He is batting .312 with a .647 slugging percentage and .420 on-base percentage. Thirty of his 53 hits were extra-base hits with 16 doubles, one triple, and 13 homers. He has 51 runs and 53 RBI, and is 11-of-11 on stolen base attempts.

Gudaitis, another UIS newcomer this year, leads the GLVC with 14.73 strikeouts per nine innings. He is also top-ten in ERA, hits allowed per nine innings, strikeout-to-walk ratio, wins, and WHIP. He is 7-2 with a 3.86 ERA and a .230 opponent batting average. He has struck out 84 batters in 51 1/3 innings.

Masters has earned all-GLVC honors for the first time in his career. He is 4-1 on the year with one save. He has a 2.97 ERA and a .242 opponent batting average. He has struck out 36 batters in 33 1/3 innings. He has been strong down the stretch, with four wins in his last five outings, and a 2.57 ERA in that span.

Alderman was also named the team's nominee for the GLVC James R. Spalding Sporstmanship award.
