Box Score The University of Illinois Springfield women's tennis team fell in the first round of the GLVC Tournament on Friday in St. Louis, Mo. The Prairie Stars lost to No. 27 Drury by a 4-0 score.
 
The Panthers won the doubles point, and then captured the first three singles matches that reached completion. The overall contest was a lot closer than the final score indicated, though, with the Prairie Stars being competitive in the four games that were not completed.
 
In doubles, the team of Franca Bucco and Riann Hsu were up at the No. 2 position when the match was called off. In singles, Carmen Fabra Llopis and Bucco both lost their first sets, but were in a second set tiebreaker when Drury won the match. At the other singles match, Neha Mokhasi was also trying to overcome a first-set loss, and she was winning the second set when it was called.
 
UIS concludes its season with a 9-9 overall record, and it finished tied for second in the GLVC East Division.
