University of Illinois Springfield women's golfer
Madison DeRousse earned an individual bid to the NCAA Division II East Regional on Monday. DeRousse was one of six individuals who earned an at-large bid to the tournament.

DeRousse was the leading UIS women's golfer throughout this year. She has a 79.71 scoring average on the year, which is a top-10 mark in Prairie Stars history for a season. DeRousse was 13th overall at last week's GLVC Championships. She has two runner-up finishes this year, and one third-place showing. She had a season-best round of 72 at the McKendree Bearcat Dual Gender event, and has shot 80 or better in 13 of her 24 rounds.

DeRousse is in her second year at UIS after transferring from Missouri-St. Louis. She had an 80.39 scoring average in 2020-21. DeRousse holds the school record for the low 54-hole score with a 224 at a tournament in 2020.

This year's East Regional will be played at Shoal Creek Golf Club in Kansas City, Mo. on May 2-4. The top five teams at that event, as well as the top two individuals not on an advancing team, will advance to the NCAA Division II National Championships in Gainesville, Ga. on May 10-14.
