The University of Illinois Springfield men's tennis team had a new look on Friday in its home match against Maryville, but the team could not solve its doubles woes in a 4-3 loss to Maryville.

UIS tried new matchups for its doubles, and all three were in a competitive match.
Oscar Toro and
Nick Revin pulled out a 6-4 win at No. 3, but the Saints won the other two contests, including a 7-5 tiebreaker at No. 2.

In singles, the two program split the matches, giving Maryville the victory. The two teams were tied at three until the Saints won the No. 4 match by a 6-4 margin the fourth set. Winners for the Prairie Stars were
Tomas Martinez at No. 2, Revin at No. 3, and
Matthew Lapsley at No. 6.

UIS, which is now 7-9 overall, will conclude its season tomorrow against Lindenwood. The match will begin approximately at 1 p.m. at the UIS Tennis Courts.
