The University of Illinois Springfield men's tennis team kept its postseason hopes alive with a narrow road victory on Friday. The Prairie Stars won the final match of the day for a 4-3 victory over Southern Indiana.

The dual meet came down to the No. 6 singles match featuring UIS's
Matthew Lapsley. Lapsley won the first set 6-3, but the second one went to a tiebreaker. In the tiebreaker, he lost just one point to give UIS the team victory.

Southern Indiana captured the doubles point, but UIS won four of the six singles matches. Other winners were
Menno Servaes,
Tomas Martinez, and
Nick Revin. The doubles team of Martinez and Lapsley also won their match.

UIS improves to 7-8 on the year and 1-3 in GLVC play. The Prairie Stars return home next Friday to take on Maryville.
