The University of Illinois Springfield baseball team swept a doubleheader against Parkside on Saturday afternoon at the UIS Baseball Field. Among the highlights of the day was the program scoring the fourth-most runs in a game in program history.

In the opener, Parkside led 3-2 midway through, but UIS scored six runs in the fourth, fifth, and six innings for an 8-3 win.

Quinn Gudaitis threw a complete game in the seven-inning contest. He struck out 12 and walked none, and gave up just four hits.

Zion Pettigrew homer twice in the game. He finished three-for-three with two RBI and three runs.
Asher Bradd had three hits and two hits. Brand Vanaman also homer for the Prairie Stars and he had two runs and two RBI.

In the second game, UIS's offense exploded for 24 runs, a total bettered just three times in program history. The contest included the Prairie Stars scoring eight time in the first and 10 times in the sixth inning.

Brandon Bannon led the Prairie Stars with four hits, four runs and two RBI.
Kal Youngquist finished with three hits, three runs, and four RBI.
Hunter Phelps hit a grand slam, and
Johnny Colombo and
Bobby Barnard each had homers.

Bradd, Pettigrew, and Vanaman all had three runs. Phelps had a team-high five RBI, and Barnard and
Austin Alderman both had three RBI.

UIS has won seven straight, and is now 11-3 on the season. The Prairie Stars continue their homestand next weekend with three games against McKendree.
