University of Illinois Springfield men's tennis player Menno Servaes was named the GLVC Player of the Week on Tuesday. It was the fourth time in his career, and first time this season, that he has earned this honor.
 
Servaes went 3-1 last week while UIS took on a pair of nationally-ranked teams. He won both of his number one singles matches. Against Augustana, he won in straight sets. In the Lander match, he came from behind by winning sets two and three by identical 6-3 scores. Servaes also won his No. 1 doubles match against Augusta by a 6-3 score.
 
Servaes is now 15-5 on the season in singles play, and 10-5 in doubles action. His 25 total victories is tops on the team.
