The University of Illinois Springfield men's tennis team continued the toughest portion of its schedule on Thursday, facing its fifth straight opponent that is currently ranked in the top-50 of the ITA national rankings. The Prairie Stars could not pull off the upset win over No. 13 Lander, falling 6-1.

UIS won two matches on the day, with one both in singles and doubles play. In singles,
Menno Servaes continued his hot play with a 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 victory at No. 1 singles. At No. 3 doubles,
Tomas Martinez and
Matthew Lapsley won the No. 3 position by a 6-4 margin.

UIS falls to 4-5 on the season. The Prairie Stars are back in action on March 25 at Missouri-St. Louis.
