The University of Illinois Springfield women's tennis team took another nationally-ranked team down to the wire, but this time came up just shy. The Prairie Stars fell to No. 34 Augusta on Tuesday by a 4-3 score.

UIS won the doubles point after capturing the No. 2 and No. 3 matches.
Franca Bucco and
Carmen Llopis Fabra won the No. 2 match, and
Riann Hsu and
Piper Schrepferman took the No. 3 contest.

In singles play, the Prairie Stars won at No. 3 and No. 6, but couldn't get a third win for the team victory. Bucco picked up her second victory of the day at No. 3, and Hsu lost just three games in her No. 6 win.

UIS is now 4-4 on the season. The Prairie Stars travel to nationally-ranked Lander on Thursday.
