Brandon Bannon was named the GLVC Player of the Week earlier this week. Bannon is the third UIS baseball player to earn a weekly GLVC award this season.

In Sunday's doubleheader against McKendree, Bannon was six-for-nine, and also drew a pair of walks for a .727 on-base percentage. Among his six hits was one double and three home runs, which was a 1.778 slugging percentage. He scored seven times in the two games, and had five RBI. In the field, Bannon did not make an error in 10 chances, and was a part of two double plays.

In the first game, which UIS won 19-6, Bannon had had team-highs with three hits and four runs. He nearly hit for the cycle, with everything but a triple. In the second game, a 15-4 win, Bannon had team-highs with three hits, three runs, and three RBI. He hit two home runs in that contest.

On the season, Bannon is batting .463 with a .851 slugging percentage and .560 on-base percentage. He has 33 runs and 20 RBI in 17 games. He has hit four doubles, two triples, and six home runs.
