The University of Illinois Springfield men's tennis came up short in the opening game of its Spring Break trip with a 4-3 loss to Lincoln Memorial.

The difference in the match came from the doubles point. UIS won the No. 1 contest thanks to
Menno Servaes and
Sebastian Jonsson, but Lincoln Memorial won the other two for the point.

The two teams then split the singles matches. Servaes and Jonsson both won to finish 2-0 on the day, and
Tomas Martinez won the No. 1 contest in a tiebreaker. The big difference was the No. 3 singles match where Lincoln Memorial won 10-7 in the third-set tiebreaker.

UIS falls to 4-3 on the season. The Prairie Stars resume play on Tuesday at Augusta.
