The University of Illinois Springfield women's tennis squad travelled to Springfield, Mo. over the weekend for matches against one nationally-ranked team and another receiving votes in the national poll. The Prairie Stars lost 7-0 to Drury, and 5-2 to No. 17 Washburn.

Drury swept all nine matches against UIS in the weekend's opening match. UIS came come at No. 4 and No. 6 singles, but
Franca Bucco and
Riann Hsu came up short in a second-set tiebreaker.

UIS played better on Saturday and won the top two singles matches against nationally-ranked Washburn.
Sina Skjelstad was victorious in three sets and No. 1 singles, and
Carmen Llopis Fabra dropped just three games in her two-set victory at No. 2 singles.

UIS is now 3-3 on the season. The Prairie Stars are in action again on March 13 at Lincoln Memorial.
