The University of Illinois Springfield men's tennis team picked up a regional victory on Sunday afternoon in Springfield, Ill. The Prairie Stars squeaked by Tiffin by a 4-3 score.

UIS trailed 3-1 in the match, but tied it with wins by
Zubin Omar and
Matthew Lapsley. The contest would be decided by the No. 5 singles match. UIS's
Sebastian Jonsson lost the first set, and faced two match points in the second. He saved both points though and ended up winning the second set. In the deciding third set, Jonsson won 6-0, giving the Prairie Stars the team win.

The other singles winners on the day was
Tomas Martinez, who was leading his No. 1 match before his opponent retired. In doubles,
Menno Servaes and Jonsson captured the No. 1 position with a 6-2 margin.

UIS improves to 4-0 on the season. The Prairie Stars will head to Springfield, Mo. next week to face Drury and Washburn.
