The University of Illinois Springfield men's tennis team opened up its spring season on Friday afternoon in Park Forest, Ill. The Prairie Stars picked up a 6-1 win over Purdue Northwest.

UIS dropped the doubles point, as it only won the No. 3 match with the winning team of
Nick Revin and
Matthew Lapsley.

The Prairie Stars bounced back though and won every singles match.
Menno Servaes, Revin,
Zubin Omar, and Lapsley all won in straight sets, and
Tomas Martinez and
Sebastian Jonsson each picked up wins in a third set.

UIS is now 2-0 on the year. The Prairie Stars are home tomorrow when they face Michigan Tech.
