The University of Illinois Springfield women's basketball team completed a season sweep over Indianapolis on Saturday at TRAC. The Prairie Stars won by a score of 79-68.

UIS pulled away from the Greyhounds in the third quarter. The Prairie Stars already led 41-35 at halftime, and then extended that advantage to double figures throughout the third quarter. UIS led by as many as 17 as it closed out the game in the fourth.

The Prairie Stars shot over 50 percent from the field, and had one of their best three-point shooting days in program history. UIS hit 10-of-14 three-pointers, including both
Ellie Mitchell and
Liz Uhl making four-of-four from behind the arc. The Prairie Stars also had a +5 rebounding margin and +3 turnover margin in the game.

Five players finished in double-figure points for UIS, led by
Lauren Ladowski with 18. Ladowski hit 10-of-10 from the free-throw line. Uhl had 16 points,
Malea Jackson finished with 15, Mitchell had 14, and
Ally Gietzel scored 11. Gietzel had a double-double after also collecting 14 rebounds. Ladowski had six of the team's 11 assists, and she, Mitchell, and Gietzel each had two steals.

UIS improved to 11-6 on the season and 6-5 in GLVC play. The Prairie Stars will take their three-game winning streak to Rockhurst on Monday.
