The University of Illinois Springfield women's tennis team competed at the ITA Regionals over the weekend in Indianapolis, Ind. Three players advanced to the second day against the challenging tournament field of regional opponents.
 
UIS went 0-4 in the first round of singles in the "A" draw, but three players made a run in the consolation bracket. Franca Bucco advanced to the Consolation Quarterfinals, the best showing by a Prairie Star. Piper Schrepferman and Sina Skjelstad both won their first consolation match before falling in the round of 16.
 
In doubles, the Prairie Stars went 0-4 with losses in the first round and consolation first-round.
 
UIS ends its fall season on Oct. 8 with a home dual against Olivet Nazarene.
