Calla Wickenhauser made program history on Saturday at LOLJOS and helped the University of Illinois Springfield softball team split a doubleheader with Drury. The Panthers won game one by a 7-4 score, and the Prairie Stars captured game two by an 8-1 margin.
Â
Wickenhauser scored three times in the second game, with her last two runs coming off home runs. She now has 100 runs and becomes the first player in UIS history to reach the 100 milestone in both runs and RBI. She ended the day with exactly 100 runs and 108 RBI in her Prairie Stars career.
Â
Wickenhauser's big game two, which also included four RBI, led UIS to splitting the series.
Carly Chovanec and
Lindsay LaDere both had two hits, and LaDere had two runs and two RBI.
Addison Bryant pitched a complete game to earn the win. She allowed just two hits and one unearned run. She struck out five and walked just one.
Â
In the opener, UIS led 2-0 after four innings, but Drury's offense scored seven times in its last three at-bats.
Danielle Dennis was three-for-three at the plate in that game, and Chovanec,
Carolyn Franke, and
Ashley Klinzing each had two hits. Franke drove in a pair of runners.
Â
UIS moves to 17-25 on the year and 12-14 in GLVC play. The Prairie Stars end their regular season on Sunday with two games against Missouri S&T.
