The University of Illinois Springfield men's tennis team defeated Lindenwood on the road on Friday afternoon in St. Charles, Mo. The 5-2 victory guaranteed that the Prairie Stars will be advancing to the GLVC Tournament next weekend.

The Prairie Stars won the first doubles matches to go up 1-0 on the day.
Menno Servaes and
Tomas Martinez won 6-3 at No. 1, and
Nick Revin and
Matthew Lapsley were victorious by a 6-2 margin at No. 2.

UIS and Lindenwood split the first four singles matches to put the Prairie Stars up by just a narrow 3-2 score.
Rafa Rojas lost just three games in his straight set victory at No. 4, and Revin, after losing the first set, dropped just two games in his three-set, comeback win.

Oscar Toro clinched the team victory for UIS at No. 6 singles. He won by scores of 6-3 and 6-3 to give the Prairie Stars their fourth and deciding point. Lapsley then survived his three-set match for the final margin.

UIS improves to 9-3 on the season, and 3-2 in GLVC play. The Prairie Stars are in action again on Saturday at Maryville.
