Women's Tennis Ends Regular Season With Two Dual Games

4/22/2021 9:38:00 AM

The University of Illinois Springfield women's tennis program travels to Lindenwood and Maryville this week for a pair of GLVC dual matches. The contests will be the final regular season games for the Prairie Stars.

UIS is currently 9-2 on the season and 3-1 in GLVC play. The Prairie Stars need one victory this week to guarantee a spot in the conference tournament.

Last week, the Prairie Stars defeated Southern Indiana in their final home game of the season. The final score was 5-2. UIS did not lose an individual match that was contested in the game.

The Southern Indiana contest was Senior Day for UIS's lone senior Carol Quevedo. In her first year as a Prairie Star, she has a 10-3 singles record, and a 12-1 doubles mark. She has primarily played this year at No. 1 singles and No. 2 doubles.

Each individual GLVC school will determine their own attendance policy for tennis. Please check the policies of the home teams if interested in attending a contest. (Lindenwood | Maryville)
