The University of Illinois Springfield men's soccer program dropped its final home contest on Sunday afternoon at Sacred Heart-Griffin's Ken Leonard Field in Springfield, Ill. The Prairie Stars lost to Missouri S&T by a final score of 1-0.

Sunday was Senior Day for UIS, and four seniors were celebrated before the match including
Javier Milla,
Quentin Reese,
Dan Mahony, and
Jay Younger.

The Prairie Stars played the match with great attacking intensity throughout, outshooting the Miners in both halves by a final margin of 14-8. Four of those shots were are on target for UIS compared to two for Missouri S&T. The Prairie Stars also held a statistical advantage in corner kicks with a margin of 3-2 at the end of both periods of play.

Despite the offensive pressure of the Prairie Stars, the Miners were able to find the game's only breakthrough with a goal in the 64th minute of the second half, and they held on to win the game.

Lars Brinkman,
Marvin Zott, and
Mario Gonzalez all tallied multiple shots for the Prairie Stars, with Brinkman leading the team with four shots.

UIS falls to 3-3-3 on the season. The Prairie Stars go on the road to Maryville next Friday in their final GLVC regular season contest.
