The University of Illinois Springfield women's soccer team will be at Kiwanis Stadium for a pair of games this weekend. The Prairie Stars take on McKendree on Friday evening, followed by a Sunday game against Southern Indiana. Both teams were picked in the top-four in the GLVC preseason coaches' poll.

UIS opens the week with a 1-1-0 overall record. The Prairie Stars fell to Lindenwood by a 1-0 margin last week, and bounced back with a 1-0 road victory over Missouri-St. Louis.

Ally Lassetter had the game-winning goal against the Tritons, with an assist from
Amanda Meyer. In goal,
Amanda Finnell had a 0.50 GAA and a .833 save percentage in her first two collegiate starts.

McKendree won both of its game in its opening week of the season. The Bearcats defeated Indianapolis by a 1-0 margin, and had a 3-0 victory over Lewis.

Mercedes King made four saves in her two starts in goal. The offense was led by Alynnah O'Leary and Anna Stiffler who each had one goal and one assist.

Last season in Lebanon, Ill., the two teams were tied at one at halftime. The Bearcats struck three times though in the second half for a 4-1 victory.

Southern Indiana fell to Indianapolis in its lone game this season. The final score of that contest was 2-1.

Katlyn Andres scored the Screaming Eagles' goal against Indianapolis. Maggie Winter and Madelyne Juenger assisted on the score. Maya Etienne had five saves and allowed two goals in the contest.

UIS will hit the road on March 12 and March 14 for a pair of games. The Prairie Stars will be at Indianapolis on that Friday, and at Lewis in the Sunday contest.
