The University of Illinois Springfield softball team lost a pair of games on Sunday in Romeoville. The Prairie Stars fell 8-5 and 11-10 against GLVC rival Lewis.

In the opener, Lewis opened up a 7-1 advantage after three innings, and then held on for a three-run win.
Jillian Mathis led the offense with a double and two RBI.
Addison Bryant threw 3 1/3 innings and allowed just one hit and one run, and she struck out three.

Game two was wild with five lead changes and three extra innings of softball.
Kayana Diederich hit a three-run homer in the top of the seventh to give UIS a 10-8 advantage. Lewis tied the game in the bottom of the seventh, and then used a two-out double and single to win the game in the 10
th.

Mathis had three more hits, as did
Calla Wickenhauser. Wickenhauser also had two runs and two RBI. Diederich finished the game with two hits, two runs, and the three RBI. She also threw nine of the ten innings for the Prairie Stars.
Danielle Dennis and
Emma Garcia each had two RBI.

UIS falls to 9-19 on the season and 4-8 in GLVC play.
