The No. 14 University of Illinois Springfield baseball team completed a series sweep over Truman State on Sunday in Kirksville, Mo. The Prairie Stars threw a one-hitter during a 12-0 victory over the Bulldogs.

The Prairie Stars got all of the offense they needed in the first two innings as UIS got out to a 10-0 lead. The pitching staff did the rest of the heavy load in the game.

Chad Saner threw the first three innings and earned the win. He allowed no hits and one walk, and he struck out six.
Seth Masters, Tyler Horvarth,
Luke Fitton, and
Cameron Leff each pitched a scoreless inning of relief. Horvath and Fitton each struck out two in their inning. The only hit came in the fifth inning when a Truman batter just beat out a slow roller to shortstop.

Pettigrew provided most of the offense with three hits, three runs, and four RBI. He had a double and a homer in the game.
Nick Mayerhofer had two hits, a walk, and two runs.
Bobby Barnard drove in three runs.

UIS improves to 14-2 on the season and 10-2 in conference play. The Prairie Stars host a key GLVC series this upcoming week against Missouri S&T.​
