The University of Illinois Springfield men's tennis program could not get the third sets to go their way on Sunday in Fulton, Mo. The Prairie Stars fell to NAIA nationally-ranked William Woods by a 4-2 margin.
 
UIS opened the day on a high note by winning the doubles point. 
Menno Servaes and 
Tomas Martinez had a 6-0 shutout win at No. 1 doubles, and 
Alex Chan and 
Oscar Toro clinched the point with a 6-4 victory at No. 3.
 
In singles, three of the five completed matches went to a third set. The Owls won all three of those matches for the two-point team victory. The lone singles victory for the Prairie Stars came from 
Rafa Rojas who won No. 4 by a 7-5 and 6-3 score.
 
UIS falls to 4-1 on the season. The Prairie Stars are at Olivet Nazarene next Friday.
