The University of Illinois Springfield women's soccer team played a tight game with the Lewis Flyers on Sunday afternoon in Romeoville, Ill. The Prairie Stars were unable to find an opening in the Flyers' defense and fell by a score of 1-0.
 
Lewis took the lead early in the contest in the ninth minute, but from that point on the Prairie Stars and Flyers played an even match statistically speaking. UIS was able to outshoot Lewis by a 6-5 margin throughout the game, with four of those shots being on target compared to Lewis' three. The Prairie Stars were also able to double the Flyers in total corners throughout the game by a 4-2 margin.
 
Abby Dellamorte and Rylee Billington led UIS with two shots apiece during the game. Amanda Finnell recorded two saves while in goal.
 
UIS falls to 1-5 on the season. The Prairie Stars will be in action again next Sunday at Quincy.
