The University of Illinois Springfield men's soccer team recorded its second straight shutout to start the 2021 season. The Prairie Stars played Missouri-St. Louis to a 0-0 tie after 110 minutes of soccer on Sunday in St. Louis.

UIS had a 7-4 lead in shots on goal, and a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks. The Prairie Stars were especially on the offense in overtime, outshooting the Tritons 4-1 and having four corning kicks in the two extra periods.

Pijus Petkevicius made four saves in goal in order to have his 15th career shutout.
Drew Keller,
Marvin Zott, and
Brian Riordan were also leaders on defense by playing all 110 minutes.
Terence Bynoe and
Mario Gonzalez led the offense with two shots on goals apiece.

UIS is now 1-0-1 on the 2021 spring season. The Prairie Stars will host McKendree on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Kiwanis Stadium.
