The University of Illinois Springfield women's soccer team fell in its season opener on Friday night at Kiwanis Stadium. The Prairie Stars lost to Lindenwood by a 1-0 score.

UIS outshot Lindenwood by a 10-9 margin, but the Lions had a 6-4 edge in shots on goal. One of those six came in the 59th minute when a Lions' pass got past the Prairie Stars' goalie, and a Lindenwood played needed to just tap it in for the game's only tally.

Kayla Meyer,
Sierra Cenek, and
Abby Dellamorte all had two shots in the game, and both of Cenek's shots were on goal.
Amanda Finnell made five saves in her first collegiate start in goal.
Claire Sokol,
Meghan Vlcek,
Emma Little,
Kayla Meyere, and
Maggie Joos all played 90 minutes in the game.
