The University of Illinois Springfield women's tennis team used a dominating singles performance to pick up a win in its first dual meet of the spring season. The Prairie Stars went on the road and defeated Millikin by a 6-3 score.

In the four singles matches that were played, UIS dropped just a single game.
Carol Quevedo,
Sina Skjelstad, and
Franca Bucco all won their matches by 6-0 and 6-0 scores, and
Neha Mokhasi dropped just a single game in her first set.

In doubles, the team of Mokhasi and Skjelstad won the No. 1 position by an 8-3 margin. At the No. 2 spot, Quevedo and Bucco were victorious by an 8-1 score.

UIS will return to action on Feb. 27 when it travels to Purdue Northwest for a 1 p.m. contest.
