Box Score The University of Illinois Springfield men's basketball team could not overcome a slow first half on Saturday afternoon at TRAC. The Prairie Stars fell on Senior Day to William Jewell by a 73-68 score.

UIS trailed by as many as 14 in the first half, and was down 39-30 at the break. In the second half, the Prairie Stars could never get a run big enough to take the lead. They were behind 63-60 with 3:36 remaining, and missed a three-pointer that would tie the game. William Jewell came down and hit its three-point attempt, and then made five-of-six free throws in the final minute to seal the win.

William Jewell had 11 more free throw attempts and made 10 more from the charity stripe. It also made three more three-pointers in the game. UIS won the rebounding battle by 10 boards, and outscored William Jewell 14-0 in second-chance points. Both teams had single-digit turnovers.

UIS celebrated Senior Day before the game. Among this year's class,
Keymonta Johnson led the way with a double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds, and he had a team-high four assists.
Matt Wendling finished with three points and four rebounds,
Collin Stallworth had three rebounds, and
Will Rucker collected one board.

Jack Weber had a team-high 20 points in just 23 minutes of playing time. He was 10-of-17 from the field.
Chase Robinson added 15 points and had four steals.
Jesus Castillo had his best game since coming back with 10 points and nine rebounds.

UIS is now 7-10 on the season. The Prairie Stars next travel to McKendree on Tuesday night.
