The University of Illinois Springfield track and field teams released its upcoming indoor schedule today. The Prairie Stars have six regular season meets, followed by their postseason action.
 
UIS starts the season alternating trips from Louisville, Ky. to Allendale, Mich. The Prairie Stars will compete in the Bellarmine Open and PNC Bank Bellarmine Classic in Louisville. At Grand Valley State, it will compete in the Bill Clinger Classic, as well as the Friday and Saturday GVSU Big Meets.
 
The Prairie Stars end their regular season close to home at the Hilltop Classic in Jacksonville, Ill., which is hosted by Illinois College.
 
The GLVC Championships will take place on Feb. 26-27 in Indianapolis, Ind. UIS's goal is to also have qualifiers for the NCAA Division II National Championships on March 11-12 in Pittsburg, Kan.
 
Last season, the GLVC Indoor Championships was cancelled due to COVID.
 
UIS track and field will release its outdoor schedule at a later date.
