The two teams picked at the top of the GLVC East Division preseason poll will meet on Thursday night at TRAC when the University of Illinois Springfield men's basketball team hosts Southern Indiana.

UIS enters the game with a 2-4 overall record. The Prairie Stars lost their GLVC opener on Monday night with a 51-47 setback against McKendree.

Southern Indiana is 2-2 on the season. It also lost its GLVC opener on Monday. The Screaming Eagles were defeated by Indianapolis by a 68-62 margin.

The rebounding battle will be one of the keys to the game. Southern Indiana leads the GLVC with 14 offensive rebounds a game, and UIS is fourth with nearly 12 offensive boards a contest. The Screaming Eagles are outrebounding opponents by 2.5 rebounds a game, and the Prairie Stars are being outrebounded by 1.2 a contest.
