The University of Illinois Springfield volleyball team opened up its final week of the regular season with a 3-0 setback at Southern Indiana. The Screaming Eagles won by scores of 25-16, 25-22, and 25-22.
 
Southern Indiana had just two more kills than the Prairie Stars, but finished with 14 more points. The Screaming Eagles had 10 service aces and nine blocks, while UIS had just four aces and three blocks.
 
UIS was led by Hannah Nicolaisen who had team-highs with 10 kills, three blocks, and 12.5 points. She hit .471 in the match. Angela Denney finished with nine kills, and Brianna Bush had six. Becca Blakeley led the team with 27 assists and two service aces, and completed a double-double with 10 digs. Denney had a team-high 14 digs, one more than Amanda McConnell.
 
UIS falls to 12-15 overall and 8-8 in GLVC play. The Prairie Stars travel to Indianapolis, Ind. on Friday for a must-win match against Indianapolis.
