The University of Illinois Springfield men's basketball team will tipoff conference play on Monday evening with a home contest against McKendree.

UIS enters GLVC action with a 2-3 record. The Prairie Stars went 1-1 last week at the UIndy Thanksgiving Classic. UIS fell to Northwood in the opener, but bounced back with a win over Ohio Valley.

McKendree is 3-0 on the season. The Bearcats have non-conference wins over Michigan Tech, Northern Michigan, and Harris-Stowe.

 UIS and McKendree have had a competitive series lately. The Prairie Stars and Bearcats have split their season series in each of the last three years that they have played twice. Last season, UIS won by 23 points on its home court, and the Bearcats won by 14 in the rematch in Lebanon, Ill.
